Sharad comes from a highly educated family with impeccable track record of serving society in health and social welfare. His father was the first MD in medicines passed out from King George medical college to go small city. Such an upbringing prepared Sharad for his future mission in life from his childhood.

Carrying on tradition of high education in family, Sharad graduated from IIT Roorkee in 1981 in mechanical engineering. Later he pursued his M.E. from IIT Roorkee and passed out in first class first position.

Sharad was very passionate for serving in public life that he decided not to opt for any job services even for a day. Instead he decided to set up few businesses with sole intention to serve the masses in his Lakhimpur district and surrounding regions. His micro finance company continues to serve thousands of farmers, artisans, MSME entrepreneurs. Services from his fuel station and fertilizer agency have been a boon to local farming community and lower/middle class people.

Sharad always believed in empowering people to democratic values at the grass roots. Sharad diligently discharged all the duties that party entrusted him since he joining BJP in 1980. He was district party president for 6 years, National council member of BJP for 10 years, State executive member of BJP for 8 years to name a few. Party nominated him to contest two state level elections. Sharad was however never got tempted by position of power like ministerial berths and continue to remain devoted to serve the masses.

Honesty, dedication, passion, charisma, energy of Sharad is hard to describe in words alone. His numerous close interactions with Honorable Prime mister of India Shri Narendra Modi, Defense minister Shri Raj Nath Singh, Chief minister of UP Shri Aditya Nath Yogi and many more leaders and dignitaries are proof enough of Sharad’s contribution at strategic and execution level. Sharad subtly reflects his humility by staying away from tempting media glare.

Covid-19 pandemic has shaken the entire world and India has been no exception from its devastating impact. Sharad has spearheaded implementation of government guidelines to contain spread of this pandemic, specially to rural areas. Lakhimpur Kheri has been one of the best success stories in the country in terms of managing this pandemic so far, thanks also to Sharad’s extraordinary interventions. Sharad has leveraged strong professional networking skills, including IIT Roorkee batchmates like chief secretaries, secretary in government of India, top functionaries in Railways, defense establishments etc. Such networking has proved to be a boon for safe return of thousands of stranded migrant labor from across the country back to eastern UP.

Maintaining and nurturing Indian ancient social and cultural fabric has been deeply rooted in Sharad’s persona. Some important facilitations included are group marriage of needy couples, health and education of children, sustainable model for Gau Shalas, dharmshala for the community, traditional dangal for wrestling, empowering music loving fraternity and many more. Sharad has been forthcoming in acknowledging good work by administration and he facilitates public functions to reward such exceptional services.

Environment protection has been very dear to Sharad. He has invited UP Chief minister and many dignitaries to his district to show case themselves as role model. Sharad’s friends are always eager to visit him to relish such green vistas.

Furthering Indian tradition of “like father, like son”, Sharad and his adorable wife Rashmi have groomed both their sons to serve the society. Their elder son Shikhar is first MD doctor in UP with specialization in Geriatrics. Shikhar has bravely left his lucrative jobs in Mumbai and has now settled back in his home town Lakhimpur to serve the local community. His younger son Prakhar presently working as data scientist in USA, is exploring how best he can serve his countrymen when back to India, in line with grand traditions set forth by his grandfather, father and brother.

Sharad has been serving society and still counting. All this is possible due to great tradition, culture, disciple enbibed from his Alma Mater, erstwhile University of Roorkee and now one of the most famed IIT, Roorkee.
